Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has asked Ghanaians to blame Dr. Kwame Nkrumah for the economical imbalance in Ghana.
According to Kufuor, Kwame Nkrumah spent over $450 million building factories instead of investing the money in other profitable businesses just as Singapore and Dubai did.
Kufuor stated in an interview with Accra FM that Ghana would have even been better if Nkrumah didn’t splash many factories around.
“When we gained independence we just zoomed into industrialization. So, we started building factories. That involved a lot of money. We were running, we wanted to build factories, we didn’t take our time to plan. That is why the economy collapsed,” he stated.
As a reminder, Kwame Nkrumah PC was a Ghanaian politician and revolutionary. He was the first Prime Minister and President of Ghana, having led the Gold Coast to independence from Britain in 1957.
