Eddie Nartey seemed to have been blending perfectly into the background and out of the limelight until the recent death of his wife. Although avoiding the public, it is clear that the news had shattered him.

Eddie Nartey was born in Korle Gonno on the 6th of November 1984. He started school at the Korle Gonno Methodist Primary and Junior High School where he completed successfully.
For his senior high school, Eddie attended the Holy Trinity Cathedral Secondary school. He graduated with an BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon where he studied Movie Directing.
A talented actor, director, and film producer today, Eddie Nartey made his screen debut in 2004. Eddie interpreted the character given to him at the time and has since been regular on the Ghanaian screens.
By acting in over 150 movies such as Gallery of Comedy, Passion and Soul, Girls Connection, Wedlock of the Gods, Return Of Beyonce, Crime To Christ, In The Eyes Of My Husband, and others, Eddie Nartey has worked with the best of both Ghanaian and Nigerian media personalities. He has worked with the likes of Nana Ama McBrown, Prince David Osei, Yvonne Nelson, Kwadwo Nkansah, John Dumelo, Majid Michel and many more.
For Eddie’s supporting role in the movie ‘Somewhere in Africa’, he was nominated for Nollywood and African Films Critics Awards and also, Ghana Movie Awards.
His first attempt at directing was outstanding in the movie “could this be love” which he co-wrote. Eddie also collaborated with Juliet Ibrahim in the “Shattered Romance” movie.
Since then, he wrote and directed ‘Royal Diadem’ and also worked on ‘In April’, ‘Beautiful Ruins’, ‘Samai’, and ‘The Corner Tv series’. His dedication to his job has made Ghanaians fall deeply in love with him.
Eddie Nartey’s eloquent showcase of talent won him accolades. He has received awards from Ghana Movie Awards for Best Picture, and Best Screenplay.
He has also been recognized by Nelas Awards with Best Short Film and Best Producer awards to show for it.
Although Eddie Nartey already had fans drooling, he decided to take it up the notch by getting dreadlocks that female fans admitted were gorgeous.
Almost at the peak of Eddie Nartey’s career journey, he met Vida Ohenewa whom he affectionately called Habibi. According to her, she thought he was just a celebrity who was going to take advantage of her in her starstruck vulnerability. It didn’t happen that way though. They soon bonded and quickly tied the knot on the 22nd of September 2018 in a beautiful private ceremony.
Of course, his fellow actors were in attendance.
In an interview, the newly wedded Vida Ohenewa Nartey revealed that her husband was going to be the Tyler Perry of Ghana. Her husband said she has always been a supportive rock ever since she walked into his life. She also made sure that he travelled the world with her.
Although these two had plans, nature had to take its course. Eddie got on Instagram to announce the demise of his beloved Habibi a few months after their anniversary.
The 37 years old creative hub laid his wife to rest, with close friends in the media present.
Things have been kept private in Eddie’s life before his marriage and Ghanaians aren’t certain as to whether he has kids or not.
His devotion to his career however has earned Nartey a net worth of nearly some 300,000 dollars and is acknowledged as one of the richest Ghanaian celebrities.
Eddie Nartey is ambitious and has achieved quite a feat in his career. Although still grieving, Ghanaians hope that there’s something in the pipeline from the actor and director.
