“You can leave for another country if you think Ghana is not safe” – Interior Minister

Mr Ambrose Derby, the Interior Minister has advised Ghanaians what to do if they think the nation is not safe following the robbery and current insecurity cases in Ghana.

According to him, the fact that the number of robbery cases in the country keeps increasing each day doesn’t mean the country in unsecured.

Mr Ambrose Derby passed this comment following several reports of robbery attacks and the death of constable Emmanuel Osei who died while on duty.

While the Minority in Parliament has urged President Akufo-Addo to demonstrate leadership by ensuring that the country becomes safe and sound for all and sundry, the Interior Minister does not believe the country is in a state of insecurity.

“What we should know is that the criminals continue to change the modules and we have to be changing with them and the police is doing all it can. We have not lost control. I always want to emphasise that, we need to go to neighbouring countries to see what is happening there, but we are not in the same league with them.”

“We want to do better than we are doing now, but believe me, Ghana is safe; that is why all the other countries are running to Ghana,” this was an answer from Ambrose Dery to questions from the Minority on insecurity in the country.
