Margot Kerr was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1966. She attended the University of Arizona, where she studied business and met her future husband, Steve Kerr, who was a star player on the university’s basketball team.

After completing her studies, Margot worked for a time in advertising in New York City before returning to Arizona to be with Steve, who had been drafted into the NBA. The couple got married in 1990 and have three children together.
Margot has been actively involved in charitable work throughout her life. She has served on the board of directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona and has been a major supporter of the Family House, a non-profit organization that provides housing for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center.
In addition to her philanthropic work, Margot is also an accomplished equestrian and has competed in show jumping competitions. She has also been a supporter of the equestrian community, serving on the board of directors for the United States Equestrian Team Foundation.
Margot has been a constant source of support for Steve throughout his career as a basketball player and coach. She has been by his side through both the highs and lows and has helped him navigate the challenges that come with being a public figure.
