Michael Ealy is an American actor born on August 3, 1973, in Silver Spring, Maryland. He attended Springbrook High School in Maryland and graduated in 1991. Later, he went to the University of Maryland in College Park and earned a degree in English in 1996.
After graduation, Ealy moved to New York City to pursue his acting career. He began his career on stage, performing in Off-Broadway productions such as “Joe Fearless” and “Whoa-Jack.” He made his television debut in 2000 on an episode of “The West Wing.”
In 2002, Ealy got his big break in the film industry when he was cast as Ricky Nash in “Barbershop.” His performance in the film earned him critical acclaim, and he went on to reprise his role in the sequel, “Barbershop 2: Back in Business,” in 2004.
