In July 2019, Misty Loman, a Kentucky native who was raised there, was detained for using meth. She had spent fifteen times throughout her life in and out of jail, according to her. She went viral after Wisconsin Sheriff Adam Bieber accidentally posted her mug shots online.
Misty’s unusual appearance contributed significantly to the photos’ shock value, which was intended to serve as a warning to drug users. The mug shots, however, only presented one side of the story and omitted any information about the real cause of her appearance. Unexpectedly, Misty has changed for the better and is thriving in sobriety.

Misty Loman explained that there was more to her appearance than just being a meth addict after the infamous mugshots went viral. It turned out that she had previously received diagnoses for a number of autoimmune conditions, including scleroderma, bone cancer, and lupus panniculitis.
