Born Kweku Charles Bismark Taylor Asampong better recognized as Charles Taylor has recounted how Otumfuo Osei Tutu summoned him and a colleague to the Manhyia Palace had a talk with and finally gave them a golden gunshot.
While speaking on King Kaninja’s ‘Sports Live’ show aired on Angel TV as a pundit, the top-notch playmaker said during his days as Asante Kotoko player, Otumfuo Osei Tutu once summoned him and one of his colleagues to his place around 1 am to talk with them.
According to him, they were coming up against RTU when Otumfuo sent them a car to the Palace and upon their arrival, the famous King asked them to raise some of the challenges and concerns the team is facing.
Taylor said they opened up to him and said they are living well and everything is going on well with them.
However, before they had finished taking, the prolific striker said Otumfuo dashed them a huge amount of money and later asked them to dismiss.
Narrating the incident in the Twi dialect, he said “Otumfuo b) y3n sika tuo” which means Otumfuo shot them with excess money.
Meanwhile, he failed to name the exact money Otumfuo gave to them.
Charles Taylor made this submission when discussing how football in Ghana was exciting and how players of various teams were being shown love by the team supporters.
