A petrol station and nearby homes have been severely damaged in an explosion.
Pictures shared on social media showed a forecourt in County Donegal had been torn apart in a blast.
A supermarket and homes built into the premises have been badly damaged and the roof of the building appears to have partially collapsed.
The force of the explosion stripped away the exterior wall, leaving homes exposed, and a number of cars have been damaged.
It happened at an Applegreen station near the village of Creeslough.
It’s unclear if anyone was seriously injured in the incident but paramedics are on the scene.
An Ambulance Service spokesperson said: ‘A number of ambulances are attending the scene of a serious incident at a service station in Creeslough, Co Donegal.
‘Please avoid this area at the moment if possible.’
Police are asking any road users travelling in the direction of Creeslough to consider alternative routes.
