Reliably, www.alreadyviral.com has been informed that transportation fares will soon be increased following the recent increase in fuel by 9%.
According to a statement issued and signed by officials of GPRTU, fares will be increased by 13% come Saturday, June 5, 2021.
“In line with the administrative Arrangement on Public Transport Fares the Road Transport operators have received the prices of various components that go into, the running of, commercial transport services.”
Earlier, three (3) driver unions announced a 20% increase in fares from Monday, MAY 16, 2021.
However, after long and difficult negotiations with stakeholders, a 13 percent upward adjustment in public transport fares across all categories of services has been agreed upon.
