US-based Ghanaian social media sensation Twene Jonas has descended heavily on rapper Sarkodie following his recent comments on E-Levy.
Sarkodie indirectly supported the NPP government’s E-Levy policy and said that Ghanaians are unhappy about the policy because they do not have money to pay.
The rapper disclosed that he pays taxes whenever he travels abroad and has seen the developments the government use the taxes for.
Sarkodie further indicated that under normal circumstances the levy is good if only it would be used for the intended purpose.
The father of two added that corruption and mismanagement would defeat the purpose, the reason most Ghanaians are unhappy with the pending policy and don’t want to accept it.
He wrote:
“I pay a lot of taxes outside and I don’t complain because I’m using avenues they made available to make Money…( it’s only right ) it’s not same here and that’s why we complain not because the “E Levy” is bad . When you broke, a harmless “good morning “ can sound like a tease.”
However, Twene Jonas has slammed Sarkodie and tagged him as a hypocrite for supporting the E-Levy.
Twene Jonas opined that Sarkodie should have condemned the E-levy instead of trying to be strategic with his comment due to his affiliation with the ruling party.
The US-based Ghanaian vlogger accused Sarkodie of selling his conscience to the government against the will of the people of Ghana who made him what he is today.
Twene Jonas alleged that Sarkodie’s two kids are currently residing abroad because he doesn’t want them to suffer in Ghana like the ordinary citizens are doing.
He also revealed that although Shatta Wale also collected a car from Akufo-Addo just like Sarkodie, the SM boss has been wise by rejecting the E-Levy policy.
Twene Jonas lauded Shatta Wale and expressed disappointment at Sarkodie for not speaking for the people who made him who he is today.
