An English man has recently been found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s partner and boasting about it to local police, according to Essex Live.
Marek Hecko was seen on CCTV footage walking into his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Breame’s home on the night of the murder.
Breame was asleep but woke up to the victim, Adrian Ellingford, saying that someone was in the house. As he got up to investigate, Hecko stabbed him twice in the back; he was pronounced dead at the scene with the detached knife blade still lodged inside him.
The killer fled by the time Essex police officers arrived, but Hecko soon returned intoxicated and accompanied by a bottle of brandy. He’s seen on newly-released police bodycam footage telling officers “You need me to figure out what happened … if you don’t have me, you don’t know what happened.”
Breame and Hecko split back in May. Prosecutors stated that Hecko exhibited “stalker-like behavior” and obsessiveness as he would show up to her job and residence uninvited, call, send messages, and search for her name online.
Gecko will now be serving life in prison for his actions. Ellingford was a husband and father of two at the time of his death.
